THE SHRIMP SHOW (2025)

Get your feelers on! The shrimp show is a performing arts project with an almost totally anthropocentric focus. The lab explore the shrimp as individuals trapped by the commercialization of natural resources. How are those little guys doing anyway? We will set up a company that exploits a natural resource from the sea: the shrimp and their relatives. How does one get the rights to use the fjord for commercial purposes anyway?

The performing artists will become shrimp fishermen! This was a good living at one time. Can we catch some? Enough for dinner? Enough to sell?

The workshop will combine active research, both in the field and in the digital world and explore how to bring that into performance. We will also be exploring puppets, masks and costumes, using basic designs to begin creating characters.

We will be on boats. We will sometimes get wet. Just like a shrimp.
